Abstract
Ortho-prostho synergy: strategies to limitate invasivity and to enhance esthetic results
More and more adults are referred daily to orthodontic specialists for interdisciplinary care. Inter-disciplinary therapy can improve the quality of the final treatment outcome by the synergy of different disciplines working consecutively with a strict coordination. Orthodontic treatment is always more requested in interdisciplinary care as it can allow to reach higher standards of results thanks to the improvement of the condition of the periodontal tissues and the possibility of using less destructive restorative procedures. Moreover, orthodontic treatment can be used as a tool to treat compromised dentitions with space closure of edentulous sites or following extractions of compromised teeth, as an alternative to prosthetic rehabilitation.
The presentation will highlight orthodontic strategies, tips and tricks to facilitate minimally invasive prosthetic procedures aiming to optimal esthetic outcomes in the smile zone.
